Pivoting Life

The household is in a period of massive flux currently. Lots of change in multiple places

House & family

We're down a member of the household in that the teenager has moved to live with their dad. It's been gutting on many levels but has also allowed some positive outcomes. Our house is small (75sqm, some houses have larger living rooms), so having one fewer bodies means we can move the Smalls into a larger room and in-turn that frees up their old wee room for something else (dining and computer room, I tihnk). It'll mean our living room can be a living room and remove the dining table etc. It will be nicer overall.

Personal

I've started a course tot ry and improve my chances of landing a year-round job. It's Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth and Development. It is entirely remote learning via the Horticultural Correspondence College and is so old-school taht aside from application it seems to be predominantly done via paper and post!

Irony in it being I bought Ryse for the Xbox a few days prior because I felt I had so little to do and would enjoy playing video-games again, took that wish out from under me eh. Learning > Gaming in my opinion.

I am hopeful the course will bring my brain power back and will improve my ability at gardening more swiftly than it'll get me a better job. The hard part will be to stick to a learning pathway and then the information sticking as my brain is usually a quite tired by the end of the day. I'v got Fomodoro downloaded (available via Izzy on Fdroid) for my phone to help with time-keeping whilst studying and not over-tiring myself. Perhaps not going as deep as using the 5217 technique which was briefly an app but is now defunct.

Quite looking forward to it and hoping the brain fog decreases as I learn more.
